A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum for preschool-aged children
- Create engaging lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in your care
- Manage classroom behavior and promote positive social interactions
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive learning environment
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of children with special needs or disabilities
Qualifications:
- Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA), or, AA or BS in Early Childhood Education or related field, with a minimum of 18 credits in ECE or Child Development
- PA Child Abuse, Criminal and FBI Clearances required
- Physical and TB required
Experience:
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood development and educational theories
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies
- Experience working with children with special needs, including Autism, is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
