Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role is highly valued High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework in education or child development a plus Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and staff Strong organizational skills and a collaborative mindset Patience, reliability, and a positive attitude in diverse classroom settings Willingness to assist with individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education needs
Key Responsibilities:
Support classroom teachers with instructional activities and classroom management Work one-on-one or with small groups of students, providing academic and behavioral support Assist with implementing lesson plans and adapting materials for diverse learners Help monitor student progress and contribute to documentation Foster an inclusive, respectful, and safe learning environment for all students Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to meet student needs Offer supervision and assistance during non-classroom times, such as lunch and recess
