Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role preferred Background in working with high school-aged students with autism is valuable Ability to provide dedicated, compassionate support in 1:1 or small group settings Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families Flexibility, patience, and a positive approach to helping students succeed Ability to commit to a full school year assignment

Responsibilities:

Provide direct support to students with autism in high school classrooms with low behavior management needs Work collaboratively with special education teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Assist with academic tasks, social skills development, and fostering independence Offer encouragement and guidance, celebrating student progress and milestones Help maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment Facilitate positive peer interactions and model appropriate behavior
