Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Personal Care Aid in a vibrant K-12 school environment near Pittston, PA. This assignment runs from ASAP through June 9, 2027, with 35 hours per week onsite. You'll join a group of dedicated professionals working directly within elementary, intermediate, SPED (Autism and Emotional), or high school settings, empowering students to reach their full potential. Successful candidates will demonstrate compassion and initiative, assisting students with daily tasks, adaptive needs, and positive engagement—no two days will be the same.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience as a Paraprofessional or Personal Care Aid in an educational setting Preference given to candidates holding completed Pennsylvania Paraprofessional credentials Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills Ability to adapt to varying assignments across multiple schools (final placement determined by district needs) Willingness to complete required PA clearances: Act 151, Act 114 FBI Fingerprinting, Act 126 training, Act 168 (if applicable), physical exam within past 60 days, PATCH/Act 134, 2-Step TB Test or Quantiferon TB Blood Test, and drug screening
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support to students, including those with special needs Support classroom instruction and foster independent student skills Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff on daily student plans Assist with personal care, mobility, and communication needs Encourage positive social and behavioral development This position offers an hourly rate of $22 for candidates with significant experience. Placement will prioritize credentialed applicants.
