JOB GOAL
Supporting students in the school building as well as the community setting, as directed and supervised by the Transition Coordinator or Co-Op Coordinator. Services may be provided in a special education class, regular education class, or other instructional setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists special education teacher, transition coordinator, and co-op coordinator with reinforcement of vocational skills in a variety school and community locations. Assists in the delivery of Specially Designed Instruction as outlined in the IEP. Assists individual students with social and vocational skills in the work setting. Reinforces vocationally related skill instruction as introduced by the special education teacher, transition coordinator, co-op coordinator, or manager in the community work environment. Assists in the management of student behavior; assists with observation and recording of student progress as appropriate. Assists students with vocational task completion in order to work towards student independence. Completes daily work place progress reports. Assists in production and processing of classroom materials and projects as related to transitional skills. Accompanies students to community locations via District transportation to and from work locations. Maintains positive rapport with community employers and volunteer sites, as well as communicates schedule changes, concerns and progress with transition coordinator or co-op coordinator. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs in accordance with school policy, administrative regulations, state, and federal laws. All employment is provisional for 90 days as required by ACT 168 of 2014, enacted December 22, 2014.
