Job Description
Position Summary The Historic Downtown Snohomish Association (HDSA) is looking for a self-starter who can partner with our staff in the execution of our programs. This is a part-time position but with the opportunity to grow into full-time. The right candidate will be the most successful when working independently but in partnership with our Program and Communications Manager and Executive Director in executing on the following main responsibilities: Volunteer outreach & engagement Executing on our four wine walks annually Executing on our fundraising events Finding sponsorships for our projects and events Submitting accountability reports on grant money In essence, this position enables organizational excellence and allows our other staff members to focus on leading and managing the overall work of the HDSA. Responsibilities Event Management (Including Wine Walks) Attract participating business and identify volunteers Day of event coordination Coordinate with and arrange for vendors as necessary Obtain necessary license and permits Assist in obtaining sponsorships May require working outside of normal hours on event days Business Membership Administer the onboarding of new businesses in the membership platform, ensuring accounts, membership information, and records are accurately created and maintained. Volunteer Management Recruit, onboard, and communicate with volunteers Manage volunteer assignments for events and programs Ensure that volunteer assignments have clear, task-specific instructions and day-of coordination Maintain volunteer interest lists and follow-up communication Maintain list of current volunteer opportunities in Maestro & website Other File accountability reports with grant providers showing how their gift was responsibly used in accordance with the grant guidelines Execute on other projects as assigned (such as our Ave C Mural) Find sponsors for other projects as needed Assist in researching potential grant opportunities Essential Requirements Self-starter Ability to build and maintain relationships Resourceful Learning Agile High School Diploma or Equivalent Sufficient volunteer or professional experience to have demonstrated successful partnerships and skills Other Helpful Qualifications Event planning Experience recruiting and working with volunteers Team management Strong written communication skills Ability to navigate multiple software programs Behaviors & Key Competencies Ensures accountability Action oriented Manages ambiguity Interpersonal savvy Resourcefulness Self-Development Physical Demands & Work Environment Must be able to go up and down flights of stairs Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) Must be able to lift objects overhead Must be able to transport items from place to place throughout the district Schedule & Hours With the exception of scheduled meetings and events, the schedule and location for work are very flexible. The role is envisioned to be part-time (~20 hours). Compensation & Benefits This role is non-exempt under the FLSA and the pay will be $20/hour with potential for increases in the future. Eligible for 10 days of paid vacation, 11 paid holiday days, and participation in our tuition reimbursement program.
