Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational environment supporting students in a transition program as a Teacher Assistant, Behavior Aide, or Paraprofessional. This full-time contract offers a valuable opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students through November 2026, with the possibility to extend for the entire school year. Working Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 2:30pm (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch), you will play an essential role in fostering growth, independence, and success for students with behavioral and adaptive needs.
Key Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or higher, or completion of the ParaPro Exam, or a valid Teaching Assistant Certificate Previous experience addressing behavioral needs in a school or similar setting preferred Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting students in a transition program Comfortable with hands-on responsibilities, including assistance with toileting Strong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with students, teachers, and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct instructional and behavioral support to students in a transition program Assist with engagement in classroom activities, transitions, and social-emotional skill development Collaborate closely with lead teachers, special educators, and behavior specialists to implement individualized strategies and positive interventions Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment Support students with adaptive needs in daily routines, including toileting and personal care tasks as needed Accurately document student progress and behavioral data
