Job Description
Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting student success as a full-time paraprofessional. This contract opportunity is based near Cranston, RI, and centers on assisting a high school junior during regular school hours (7:30 AM - 1:52 PM). You'll work closely with a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), providing tailored guidance and encouragement to ensure a positive educational experience.
Key Qualifications:
Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school setting is preferred Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, particularly those with visual impairments, is a plus Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and support staff Strong interpersonal skills to foster student engagement and trust Dependable, organized, and able to follow through on daily responsibilitiesRole Responsibilities:
Support an 11th-grade student in day-to-day classroom activities Collaborate directly with the TVI to implement instructional strategies and accommodations Assist with reading materials and classroom tasks, ensuring accessibility for the student Monitor student participation and provide encouragement or redirection as needed Help maintain an inclusive and respectful classroom environment Communicate progress and any challenges to instructional staff as appropriate This position offers an excellent opportunity to make an immediate, positive impact on a student's educational journey, all within a supportive school environment.
