Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities are available for enthusiastic and dedicated Paraprofessionals seeking a full-time, contract role for the upcoming school year. Two distinct positions are open, offering a rewarding chance to make a meaningful impact in educational settings while working closely with students and educators. This role requires candidates to reside on Block Island during the work week, as dictated by the ferry schedule.
Position Details:
Position 1: Provide 1:1 support to a designated student, ensuring individualized care and guidance, along with periodic coverage responsibilities to support other students as needed. Position 2: Serve as classroom-based support, collaborating with teachers to enhance instruction and provide targeted assistance to students across various learning activities.Key Qualifications:
Experience as a Paraprofessional in a school setting Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and adaptability Ability to follow individualized education plans and work closely with a multidisciplinary team RBT certification preferred, but not required Must be able to live on Block Island during the work week (reliable transportation to comply with the ferry schedule is essential)Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver supportive instruction and promote inclusion for students with diverse learning needs Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation Assist with classroom management, routine tasks, and student supervision Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teaching staff and therapists Participate in professional development and team meetings as required Both roles offer the chance to be an integral part of a supportive educational community throughout the full academic year, working in a unique island location.
