9678540-02886 Job Description Embark on a rewarding contract role supporting a close-knit K-3 classroom focused on students with diverse needs. This opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact in an intensive elementary setting alongside a skilled and collaborative team. You'll work onsite and partner with six other paraprofessionals, offering daily support to 11 wonderful students with disabilities ranging from language challenges to autism spectrum disorder.
Key Qualifications:
Experience in a school setting, particularly with elementary-age children Meets current requirements to work as a paraprofessional under Rhode Island DOE guidelines Comfort and willingness to assist with toileting duties and diaper changing Strong teamwork and adaptability, thriving in a group support environment Compassion, patience, and a proactive approach to student engagement
Role Responsibilities:
Assist classroom teachers and fellow paraprofessionals with creating an inclusive, supportive learning space Provide individualized attention and academic, behavioral, and personal care support to students Rotate duties with other TAs to maintain consistent, quality care and instruction Implement instructional strategies and activities as directed by the lead teacher Foster a positive and respectful environment that encourages student participation and confidence Support students with personal hygiene, including toileting and changing as needed This contract runs through June 18, 2027, with 31.25 hours per week onsite.
