Job Description

Make a real difference in the lives of elementary-aged students by providing essential support as a Paraprofessional specializing in behavioral needs. This contract role offers a dynamic opportunity to work alongside dedicated educators in a welcoming school environment near Warwick, RI, with placements primarily in elementary classrooms. Your background in behavioral support will allow you to positively impact students academic and personal growth. Full-time hours are available, excluding a 30-minute lunch break daily. Start as soon as possible and continue making a difference through June 2027. Classroom and caseload specifics will be determined after the interview to ensure the best fit for your experience and interests.
Qualifications & Experience:
At least one year of experience providing behavioral support in a school or related setting High School Diploma or GED required Completion of a RIDE-approved Teacher Assistant Training Program (unless exempted by a higher education degree) Must meet at least one of the following additional academic criteria: Passing score on the ParaPathways Assessment (332+ Reading/Writing and 334+ Math) 48 or more completed college credits from an accredited institution Associates degree or higher Candidates who have completed a National BCI are strongly preferred and may receive immediate placement consideration
Key Responsibilities:
Implement ABA strategies and behavioral interventions under teacher guidance Support classroom activities and individualized plans for students Encourage and reinforce positive behaviors and social skills Collaborate with staff to maintain a structured and supportive learning environment Track and document student progress If youre passionate about supporting children and are looking for a meaningful role in education, we encourage you to apply now.
