Job Description

Make a real difference in the lives of young learners by supporting an elementary classroom as a Paraprofessional in the Warwick, RI area. This contract assignment offers the opportunity to work closely with children in grades K-3, specifically in an intensive classroom designed for students with varying disabilities, including language delays and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). You'll work alongside a team of dedicated teaching assistants, fostering a supportive environment for both students and staff.
Key Qualifications:
Experience in a school setting, preferably working with children with disabilities Meets state requirements for Paraprofessional roles under Rhode Island Department of Education regulations Comfortable assisting with toileting and changing diapers Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to provide compassionate, patient support to young learners
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist the classroom teacher and collaborate with a team of six other teaching assistants Work with students on academic, social, and daily life skills Provide individualized attention and support as needed Help maintain a safe, positive classroom environment Assist with personal care routines such as toileting and diaper changes Rotate responsibilities within the classroom team
