Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role where you'll make a real difference supporting students in a dynamic transition program as a Teacher Assistant / Behavior Aide / Paraprofessional. This full-time contract opportunity spans from ASAP through November 2026, with the possibility of an extension for the full school year. Your day will begin bright and early at 7:00 am and wrap up at 2:30 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch to recharge midday. Core qualifications include an Associate's degree or higher, successful completion of the ParaPro Exam, or a valid Teaching Assistant Certificate. Prior experience supporting behavioral needs within educational settings is highly valued, as is demonstrated flexibility, patience, and teamwork. The position involves close collaboration with certified staff, assisting students in both academic and life skills—including toileting as part of the transition program requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students individually and in small groups, reinforcing learning and positive behaviors Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and team members to implement individualized behavior plans Assist with personal care, including toileting and self-care skills, for students in the transition program Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that celebrates student progress Track and document student achievements and behavior, reporting regularly to supervising educators Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training to enhance your impact You'll earn between $18-$20 per hour, with access to weekly pay and comprehensive healthcare benefits.
