Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in an elementary school environment as a supportive paraprofessional. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work onsite in a collaborative classroom near West Warwick, RI, supporting students in grades K-3 with diverse learning needs. You'll join a dynamic team structure, working closely with six other teaching assistants in an intensive classroom with 11 students. You'll assist with academic programming, social-emotional growth, and provide hands-on support, including help with toileting and diaper changing for students with varying disabilities such as language delays and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role relies on your ability to adapt and offer encouragement as part of a caring, student-centered team.

Preferred Background and Skills:

Previous paraprofessional experience in a school setting is highly valued Must meet Rhode Island Department of Education regulations for paraprofessionals Comfort supporting students with a range of abilities, including diaper changing and toileting, is essential Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to coordinate with other teaching assistants Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed
