Job Description

Orange Tree Staffing is seeking a bright and talented Paraprofessional to "Build and Inspire Growth" by providing education-based services to students located in Charleston County for the School Year!

REQUIREMENTS
Paraprofessional Certification or 60 college credits High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred Previous experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting Experience supporting students with autism, ADHD, or other developmental needs preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide instructional and behavioral support to individual students or small groups under the direction of the classroom teacher. Assist students in accessing the curriculum by reinforcing lessons, clarifying directions, and adapting materials as needed. Support students with special needs by implementing accommodations and modifications outlined in their IEPs or 504 Plans. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure consistent application of instructional and behavioral strategies. Monitor student engagement, participation, and progress, sharing observations with the classroom teacher and support team. Assist with classroom organization, preparation of learning materials, and implementation of instructional activities. Support students in developing social, communication, and self-help skills that promote independence and inclusion. Provide one-on-one or small-group supervision to ensure student safety and engagement in various school settings. Maintain accurate records of student support activities, attendance, and required documentation. Participate in training and professional development to strengthen skills in supporting diverse learners.
