Job Description

Job Description Belton First United Methodist Church (BFUMC) is seeking two Teacher Assistants for our Mother's Day Out program. Our Mother's Day Out program is a ministry of BFUMC that supports families and nurtures young children in a safe, caring, Christian environment. Classroom activities and lessons reflect the welcoming and grace-filled values of the United Methodist tradition. The program meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM during the Belton ISD school year, with an optional summer program. Teacher Assistants support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where young children can learn and grow. This position reports to the Mother's Day Out Director and works closely with the classroom Lead Teacher. Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines Provide attentive care and supervision to ensure children's safety at all times Support children's social, emotional, and developmental growth through positive interaction Help guide classroom behavior by reinforcing expectations set by the Lead Teacher Assist during playtime, meals, nap time, and outdoor activities Provide basic childcare support including diapering and assisting toddlers and infants as needed Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment Support the Christian mission and values of Belton First United Methodist Church through interactions with children, families, and staff Represent the Mother's Day Out program and the church in a positive and professional manner in all interactions, including communication with families and public or online settings Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Lead Teacher Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Experience working with young children preferred but not required Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively with classroom staff Positive attitude and genuine care for children Ability to lift 30-40 pounds Must pass a background check Must complete Ministry Safe training CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Schedule and Compensation Tuesdays and Thursdays:
8:30 AM - 2:30 PM (Schedule flexibility may be discussed) Follows Belton ISD academic calendar Optional summer program opportunities
Salary:
$11.10 / hr.
