Job Summary We are seeking a dependable, energetic, and caring Substitute Teacher Assistant to support our infant classroom, serving children ages 6 weeks to 8 months , while one of our teachers is on leave from October 12 through November 25 . This temporary role will help provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment while supporting the daily care and developmental needs of our youngest learners. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities across subjects such as literacy, math, and social studies. Support students with special needs, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations and encouragement. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques, promoting a safe and respectful environment. Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement. Use educational technologies and computers to facilitate learning and support teacher-led lessons. Communicate regularly with teachers and parents regarding student progress, behavior, and needs. Maintain compliance with educational regulations such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) while supporting inclusive classroom practices. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated classroom experience in early childhood or elementary education environments. Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is a strong plus. Familiarity with educational technologies and computer-based learning tools. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, parents, and caregivers. Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided if needed.
