Primary Purpose:
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing of classroom activities.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support 1. Provide instruction to students under the direction of teacher; work with indivudual students or small groups. 2. Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays. 3. Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments. 4. Help maintain neat and orderly classroom. 5. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment. 6. Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports. 7. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers. 8. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position. Student Management 9. Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty. 10. Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students. Other 11. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance. 12. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned. 13. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Regularly sit, talk or hear; frequently required to use hanfs to finger, handle, or feel; frequent repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, vision abilities include close vision; and color vision, regularly work with frequent interruptions, maintian emotional control under stress; the noise level is usually moderate. The employee may spend long hours in intense concentration which requires attention to detail. There are a number of deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant stress. The employee must also deal with a wide variety of people on various issues. Regularly perform multiple, highly complex, tasks with a need to periodicially upgrade skills in order the meeting changing job conditions and compliance with legal guideline. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances and integrating into different school environments. Occasionally work prolonged and irrugular hours.
