Job Description
The Teacher Assistant/ SPED Teacher Assistant supports classroom instruction by working directly with students under the guidance of the teacher. They assist in implementing lesson plans, reinforcing learning objectives, and providing individualized support to students with special needs. This role includes monitoring student behavior, supporting positive classroom management, and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. The assistant helps prepare materials, organize resources, and maintain classroom order to enhance student learning. In addition, they provide direct support during small group or one-on-one instruction, adapting strategies to meet students' individual needs. Collaboration with teachers, staff, and parents is essential to support academic and behavioral goals. Beyond the classroom, the assistant will also supervise students during transitions, recess, and other assigned duties. This position requires participation in outside and traffic duties to help ensure the safety and smooth flow of arrival and dismissal procedures.
