Job Description

Make a meaningful difference by supporting students as a contract paraprofessional specializing in American Sign Language (ASL). This on-site opportunity, located just outside Schertz, TX, offers the chance to contribute directly to students success during the 2026-2027 school year. Beginning as soon as possible and running through late May 2027, youll work approximately 37.5 hours per week, with your specific school assignment and caseload to be confirmed.
Desired Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Previous experience supporting students with diverse learning needs preferred High School Diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications are a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment Willingness to complete required fingerprinting and background check in a timely manner
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small-group assistance to students who are deaf or hard of hearing Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement student IEPs and instructional strategies Facilitate communication between students, peers, and staff using ASL Assist in classroom management and ensure a positive learning environment Support students academic and social development through direct engagement Maintain accurate records and adhere to administrative requirements
