Position Information Position Title Honors Program Teaching Assistant Requisition Number H02075P Position Category Hourly/Work Study Campus Location Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week 15 Months per year 9 Alternate work schedule Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate $15 FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function The Honors Program Teaching Assistant supports Honors faculty in the design, preparation, and facilitation of interdisciplinary Honors courses. This role provides an opportunity for students to engage deeply with course material, support peer learning, and contribute to a collaborative, discussion-driven classroom environment. Working closely with Honors faculty, the Teaching Assistant helps foster the values of curiosity, academic rigor, creative inquiry, and community that define the Honors Program. Ideal candidates are thoughtful, reliable, and excited to support meaningful academic dialogue and student success. Required Qualifications Must be a current Weber State University student in good academic standing Enrollment in the Honors Program Comfort with technology and adminisitrative tasks Ability to work independently Creativity, enthusiasm, and reliability are essential Strong communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications Background Check? This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles. , Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees., Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. , Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time. Physical Requirements of this position Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or consistently to move objects, including the human body. Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing only occasionally if ever. Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading. The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
