Job Description

Job Summary Job Title:
Part-Time Instructional Aide (Teacher Aide)
Location:
Building Blocks Children's Center (BBCC), McGaheysville, VA Building Blocks Children's Center (BBCC) is a non-profit, Christian-based, licensed child care center serving infants through pre-kindergarten. We are currently seeking compassionate, self-motivated, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as part-time instructional aides (teacher aides) . This position plays an important role in supporting classroom teachers, fostering a nurturing environment, and helping children learn and grow through developmentally appropriate practices.
Position Details:
Part-time hours available (15-25 hours per week) Seeking morning & afternoon assistants Starting pay: $12.77/hour , but prior experience will be taken into consideration Must be dependable and realiable The applicant must meet the following licensing requirements: Minimum of 16 years old (preference may be given by the center to 18 years old or older) Pass a background check Pass a TB Screening CPR/First-Aid Certified (or willing to become certified within 90 days of employment)
Basic Job Duties:
Assisting the teacher in planning and implementing the daily lesson and activities Maintain open communication between lead teacher, director, and parents/guardians (including recording child's daily health and activities). Maintain confidentiality. Maintain professional attitudes, behaviors and dress at all times while on duty. Help children with their lunches, preparation of snacks, and any other daily cleaning. Changing diapers and helping with toileting for children who are potty training. Must accept direction from and cooperate with the lead teacher, director, and fellow employees. Work both individually and as a team member with people of diverse educational, ethic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds including children, parents, BBCC Board of Directors, staff and general public. Participate in staff meetings and other required trainings.
