Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Montessori Assistant Teacher! In this dynamic role, you will support the lead Montessori guide in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young learners. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster independence, curiosity, and a love of learning among children in our unique home-based, Montessori setting located on 6.5 acres of beautiful forest. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with a small community of children, reach your teaching goals of becoming a lead AMI teacher or enjoy a lovely part-time, flexible job close to home, and contribute children's early childhood journey in a supportive, collaborative atmosphere.
Hours:
OPTION 1 PT.
Thu/Fri 7:45-4:30 pm and 1:30-4:30 pm Mon.-Wed.
OPTION 2 PT
Mon-Fri. 12:30 -5:00 pm
OPTION 3 PT
Thu/Fri. 7:45-4:30 pm Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in implementing Montessori lessons that support childhood development Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and guiding children through daily routines and activities. Provide individualized attention to children, including preschoolers and kindergarteners, ensuring their emotional and educational needs are met. Help prepare classroom materials and learning environments that stimulate curiosity and facilitate hands-on learning experiences. Foster effective communication with children to enhance language skills and social interactions. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to safety standards and promotes independent exploration. Qualifications Prior experience working with young children in an AMI Montessori setting, Montessori school, or nature school settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of Montessori method and curriculum development is a plus. Must be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid & VA Licensing Background Checks prior to start, High School Diploma/GED (min) required Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and team members.
