Job Description

Joyous Town Preschool is opening its second location in Shoreline and is seeking qualified, dependable, and passionate full-time Assistant Teachers for both our toddler classroom. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality, holistic learning experience by incorporating Montessori and STEAM-based curriculum. The Assistant Teacher will support the Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment while fostering each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. This role also requires adherence to all DCYF regulations and standards. We are looking for individuals who have a strong understanding of classroom dynamics and a genuine passion for Early Childhood Education.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate effectively with co-teachers to plan and implement lesson plans and activities, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment for all students Set up and maintain a safe, clean, and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Communicate with parents effectively and professionally on a weekly and as-needed basis Supervise and interact with children in a positive manner Provide physical care such as diaper change, toileting, handwashing, etc. Participate in events and meetings
Required Qualifications:
One year center experience Familiar with state's safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms Working knowledge of child development ages 12 months to 5 years Proven initiative and accountability
