The School District of Lomira is seeking a dedicated and reliable paraprofessional to support students in the general education classroom. This position involves working collaboratively with teachers and staff to create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct support to students in the general education classroom, including academic assistance and small group instruction. Assist classroom teachers with implementing lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom routines. Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce skills and concepts taught by the classroom teacher. Foster positive social interactions and help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom community. Assist with monitoring and documenting student progress as directed by the classroom teacher. Support students during transitions, lunch, and other school activities to ensure safety and engagement. Supervise students during recess, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior on the playground.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework in education or related fields preferred. Experience working with children is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and families. Patience, flexibility, and adaptability in responding to diverse student needs. Ability to follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment. Basic knowledge of instructional strategies and technology used in the classroom.
