Job Description
Condition of Employment:
Employee must pay initial $100 licensure fee to the Department of Public Instruction for the Special Education Aide license. Must meet criteria for DPI highly qualified. You will need to have an Associate degree (or 48 credits) or pass an online assessment.Functions:
A Special Education Paraprofessional may be asked to perform the following: Prepares educational materials under the direction of the teacher and other appropriate professionals. Assists students in mastering self-help skills; i.e.: toileting, diapering, feeding, positioning, lifting, etc. Performs tube feedings and therapeutics with students as assigned. Operates and cares for instructional equipment, assistive technology, and other augmentative devices. Carries out instructional tasks planned by the teacher and other appropriate professionals for individual students or groups of students. Assists students in the lunchroom, playground, or other areas as assigned. Attends staff development sessions as directed by the district. Maintains the district's standards relative to the confidentiality of information about students and school related concerns. Attends to the safety and well-being of all students, including but not limited to, the use of universal precautions as per blood borne pathogens training. Performs other duties as assigned by the teacher or administrator.Work Location:
