Renewal Unlimited is seeking an Infant/Toddler Teacher Assistant for our Head Start classroom in Portage.

Key Responsibilities:

Work as a team with the Teacher to create a safe, nurturing environment where young children can play and learn. Provide learning activities for social-emotional growth, cognitive skills, physical development, and the critical skills needed early in life for developing school readiness. Assists in assessing children for developmental skill progressions and entering the data into a software program within State Day Care Licensing and Federal Performance Standards. Clean, and sanitize toys and other items in the classroom. Assists with diapering following all health and safety protocols. Communicate effectively with children, their family members, other staff, and management in a positive, professional manner. Respond positively to work direction and guidance from others.

Qualifications:

Required:

Completion of the Introduction to the Child Care Profession Course or agreement to complete this course within 6 months of hire.

Preferred:

1+ year of experience in Early Childhood Education or childcare. Completion of the Skills and Strategies Course for Child Care Teachers. Completion of the Infant Toddler Foundation Credential Experience in a licensed daycare setting. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Compassionate and nurturing skills in working with young children.
