The Portage Community School District has two openings for a Multilingual Teacher Assistant. We have 2 part time openings and one 1 full time opening. The goal of the ML program is to support students in gaining English skills to perform both academically and socially within the school and community setting. The ML teacher assistant will work with the ML coordinator/teacher to implement lessons, activities, and supports designed by the ML coordinator/teacher. The ML teacher assistant also serves as a role model for students by displaying a professional and courteous attitude. This position works only during the school year. Work days are the same as the school calendar, therefore the position does not work when school is closed (such as major holidays, Spring Break, etc.) Total hours per week up to 28.75. The ML Teacher Assistant positions' hours and locations may change based upon enrollment and student need.

Qualifications:

Must have the ability to become a qualified teacher assistant by either: a. Having a degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) b. Having 30 credits of college c. Or pass a test (administered once hired) It is preferred, however not required, to be fluent and/or have experience with the other languages.
