Kindergarten Associate Teacher Madison Country Day School, a PreK-12 International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, is seeking a creative educator for late Fall/early Winter to serve as a Kindergarten Associate Teacher. This full-time, long-term substitute role supports two dynamic Kindergarten classrooms during maternity leave coverage from late Fall through early Winter. Working daily from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM, the Associate Teacher collaborates closely with lead educators to guide student learning, facilitate daily routines, and nurture social-emotional growth within an inquiry-based curriculum framework. The ideal candidate brings prior school-based experience, a passion for early childhood development, and the adaptability to seamlessly assist across two classroom environments.
The successful candidate will:
Partner closely with lead teachers to support instructional delivery, small-group learning, and daily routines across two Kindergarten classrooms. Foster a warm, inclusive, and inquiry-based learning environment aligned with early childhood best practices and IB principles. Maintain reliable, full-time availability (7:45 AM - 3:45 PM daily) for the complete duration of the maternity leave assignment. Apply prior school-based experience to implement positive classroom management and support students' social-emotional growth. Supervise and guide students during key transitions, including recess, lunch, and daily arrival/dismissal procedures. Assist with preparing instructional materials, setting up hands-on learning activities, and organizing classroom resources. Demonstrate high flexibility, strong communication skills, and adaptability while seamlessly supporting two classroom environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist lead teachers with small-group instruction, classroom management, and learning activity preparation. Support active student engagement and dynamic learning across two Kindergarten classrooms. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured environment daily from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM. Help supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and end-of-day dismissal.
QUALIFICATIONS
Have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field; At least 2 years of experience in classrooms; Excellent oral, organizational, and written communication skills; Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB), PYP, MYP, and Diploma Programme is welcome, but not required.
