A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.
Provide instructional assistance/support for students in assigned classroom(s) as directed by the teacher(s) and building principal Responsibilities include following daily plans from supervising teacher(s), making classroom preparations, assisting students as directed, and performing other duties as may be assigned.
Associate Custodian:
Serve as a member of the District's custodial team; work cooperatively with District and building-level custodial/maintenance personnel to provide students with a safe, attractive, clean, and comfortable environment so they can fully benefit from the learning opportunities available through the District's instructional/activity program
Qualifications:
Paraeducator:
Two (2) years of college (48 hours) or Associate's Degree (or higher) preferred but not required Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with students and staff and follow instructions provided by the teacher and supervisor, team oriented, ability to work in dynamic, diverse settings and a willingness to adapt to specific or new working situations Prior experience with school-aged children in an educational setting preferred
Associate Custodian:
High school graduate or equivalent required Demonstrated ability to work independently and with limited supervision as well as work effectively and cooperatively with other members of the custodial team, students, and other District staff Demonstrated proficiency in general cleaning; ability to use cleaning equipment and handle/lift heavy objects; ability to be on feet for long periods of time Custodial background/experience/knowledge Willingness to adapt to specific or new working situations
Salary:
District Support Services Wage Schedule (2026-27 Base Paraeducator = $18.65/hour, para's holding BA in education, base = $19.65/hour; Associate Custodian=$19.85/hour) These are non-benefit eligible positions
Employment Term:
29 hours per week during the school year - working student 175 days
Beginning Date:
August 20, 2026 with some training days before the first school day
