5 hours per week during the school year Position Summary Prescott Valley Charter School is seeking a knowledgeable, engaging, and student-centered Part-Time Reading & Writing Tutor to support students participating in our federally funded 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) program. This position provides high-quality literacy instruction, intervention, and tutoring to students in kindergarten through eighth grade (K-8) during our after-school and Friday academic enrichment program. The ideal candidate has a strong background in reading and writing instruction, understands evidence-based literacy practices, and is committed to helping students strengthen foundational reading skills, improve writing proficiency, and develop confidence as readers and writers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality reading and writing tutoring and intervention to individual students and small groups in grades K-8.
• Assess student literacy skills and tailor instruction to meet individual learning needs.
• Reinforce classroom instruction while helping students master grade-level reading, writing, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and language arts standards.
• Support homework completion and provide targeted intervention to close literacy learning gaps.
• Teach and reinforce foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and written expression.
• Use engaging, research-based instructional strategies to improve student achievement in reading and writing.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying ability levels.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and program staff to support student learning goals.
• Monitor student progress and maintain required program documentation.
• Foster a positive, encouraging, and academically focused learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with students while promoting confidence, perseverance, and a love of reading and writing.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Follow all school policies, grant requirements, and student safety procedures.
• Participate in required staff meetings and professional development.
• Perform other related duties as assigned in support of the 21st CCLC program. Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based reading and writing instruction for elementary and middle school students.
• Previous experience teaching, tutoring, or providing literacy intervention to K-8 students preferred.
• Ability to effectively teach reading and writing using a variety of instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable attendance and professionalism.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Preferred Qualifications
• Arizona teaching certificate preferred.
• Current or former elementary or middle school teacher, reading specialist, literacy interventionist, instructional coach, or English Language Arts teacher.
• Experience using assessment data to guide literacy instruction and monitor student growth.
• Experience working with diverse learners, including students performing below grade level. Physical Requirements
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, and move throughout classrooms.
• Lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Supervise students in classrooms and other instructional settings.
