Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking to hire an experienced Science instructor to provide instruction in science-related subjects ranging from Elementary School Science to High School AP Level Science. Your role is to provide instruction, create lesson plans, facilitate classroom discussions, evaluate student performance, and promote a positive learning environment. You will teach various science disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
JOB DUTIES
Develop and implement engaging and comprehensive lesson plans Demonstrate adaptability in teaching both one-on-one and in small group settings. Assess students' progress through regular evaluations, including tests, assignments, and participation and provide constructive feedback to the students Communicate regularly with Masterprep Admin and Staff on student progress Prepare students for their AP Exams Provide homework help as needed Prepare students for science competitions
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Science or related field from an accredited college or university (required) Master's degree in Science or related field from an accredited college or university (preferred) 2 years' experience as a Science instructor or tutor (required) Knowledgeable with AP Science (Bio, Chem and Physics) content and tests Science competition knowledge (preferred) Professional communication skills (both spoken and written) Proven experience assisting students with essay review Competent in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Able to work independently and collaborate with a team Enthusiastic about working with students and parents Able to maintain strict confidentiality Highly organized and detail-oriented (attention to detail and accuracy are imperative) Ability to meet schedules and deadlines Good judgment and decision-making abilities Good problem-solving skills Good planning skills Highly responsive Highly proactive Highly reliable Integrity Possible shifts are between M-F 3pm - 8pm and Saturday 9am - 5pm
