Who We Are:

At The Scholars' Grove, our mission is to empower schools and families by providing skilled intervention professionals who implement specialized reading, writing, and math programs proven to increase scores of struggling students. Our Founder & CEO is a teacher turned School Psychologist with over 20 years of educational experience. She created The Scholars' Grove in response to the frustration schools and families face over lack of resources that provide real results for struggling students.

What You'll Do:

Teach reading, writing, and/or math skills using our specialized curriculum (online training provided) Be punctual and reliable for scheduled tutoring sessions Provide helpful feedback regarding student progress Build student / teacher relationships to promote learning and continuity Log your sessions worked into our convenient tutor portal

What You'll Need:

Location :

Ability to tutor in person in Morro Bay, CA (Required)

Education :

High School Diploma or

GED, AND

one of the following: two years of college (48 units), OR A.A. degree (or higher), OR passage of the CBEST exam.

Experience :

Background as a tutor, substitute teacher, paraprofessional, teacher, or related position working with children (Required)

Availability :

Opportunities to tutor mornings, afternoons, evenings (we serve many homeschool families). Our highest need is for morning availability, followed by afternoons.

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication and listening skills, professional demeanor, able to build positive learning relationship with students

Background Check:

Offers of employment are conditional upon clearance of a criminal background check.

Transportation:

Reliable transportation to drive to students' homes.
