ACT and SAT Test Prep Tutor

AR Academics, Orange County's premier test preparation and tutoring company, is seeking full time or part time verbal and STEM tutors. AR specializes in ACT and SAT test preparation, as well as academic subject tutoring for middle school, high school, college, and graduate students.

1 on 1 Test Preparation Tutoring (Full Time/Part Time Available)

COMPENSATION

$24

• 35 per hour depending on experience

Job Description and Functions:

• 1 on 1 test prep tutoring in either verbal (english/reading/writing) or STEM (math/science) at our office with the main demographic being high school aged students.
• Sessions are usually booked in 1 hour blocks with each tutor and student getting either own private room.
• Tutor will assess strengths and weaknesses of the student and will work to build conceptual competency necessary for the test as well as test taking skills and strategies to maximize student's scores. Tutors will design personal game plans and roadmaps for students to help them stay on track to achieve their goals.
• Tutor is a coach and mentor, not just someone who will go through each of the questions with a student.
• Tutor will provide regular progress updates for students.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Passion for teaching and working with students
• Strong interpersonal skills that will help create a safe and fun environment for students (charisma, warmth, relatability, positivity, etc)
• Strong background in relevant fields
• Punctual and reliable transportation Desired/Strongly Preferred
• Prior teaching/tutoring experience, specifically with ACT and/or SAT
• Advanced knowledge in relevant fields (preferred)

Verbal/Humanities:

AP Language AP Literature AP History (Euro, World, US, etc)

Math:

Pre Calculus AP Calculus

AB/BC AP

Statisitics Common Core/Integrated Math Science:

AP Biology AP Chemistry AP Physics
