Dear Prospective Educator, Hodis Learning & Music is looking for kind and experienced W2 employees, 'Educators', to serve our growing client base and become a part of the HLM family.Subjects, Populations, and Additional Considerations:
We are looking for Educators who can tutor and teach the following subjects: AP Physics AP Physics 2AP Physics C:
Mechanics AP Physics C:
Electricity and Magnetism High school math Middle school math As we value diverse expertise and tutoring abilities, priority will be given to those who can also tutor and teach additional subjects/instruments. Educators must be able and willing to tutor and teach the subjects at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Priority will be given to those who can also tutor and teach at the college level.Schedule:
The Educator for this position must be available: Mon/Wed Schedule from 3-9pm; Tue/Thu schedule from 3-9pm; or One weekday Mon-Thu from 3-9pm and one weekend day (Sat or Sun) from 11am-5pmLocations:
HLM primarily and proudly serves South Pasadena, Pasadena, and San Marino, and secondarily Alhambra, Eagle Rock, Highland Park, La Canada, and San Gabriel. Educators conduct sessions in the students' home. Some students may wish to conduct sessions via Zoom, but these students are a rarity (about 1-2% of our clientele).Who We Are:

pandemic quarantine.Description of Role and Responsibilities:
Tutor mathematics to elementary, middle, and high school students, and possibly college students. Travel by car between meeting locations to tutor students. Possible meeting locations are students' homes and a local public library. Educators communicate with families to schedule sessions. This position begins with minimal hours that will grow as the semester proceeds.Qualifications:
A desire to help students achieve and succeed in their academic or artistic pursuits. Kindness and understanding and a positive, warm, and uplifting personality to help HLM students shine brighter in their academics, Music, or Arts, and beyond. Ability and desire to work with students of all ages. Our youngest students are about 5 years of age. At least a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of tutoring/instruction experience. Preference is given to applicants who also scored at least 1400 on the SAT (2100 on the old test) or SAT-equivalent. Local to the greater Pasadena area. Ability to reliably commute to students' homes throughout the San Gabriel Valley- primarily South Pasadena, Pasadena, and San Marino, and secondarily in Alhambra, San Gabriel, Temple City, Arcadia, Eagle Rock, and Highland Park, Academic Educators must be able to tutor multiple subjects.
COVID-19.
Willing and able to wear a mask while teaching. Can provide phone numbers for 3 references from current/former employers. Ability to commit to at least 15 sessions/week. Ability to commit to work for the entirety of the 2025-2026 school year (through June 5, 2026).What We Offer Our Educators :
Students and resources. Top-level pay for the educational connections industry. We recognize that our Educators are some of the best in the field, and we treat them as such. Dedicated support, advice, and guidance from experienced Educators. Feedback and reports on Students' assessments of sessions. In other words, we inform you regarding students' perceptions of session effectiveness and recommendations on areas in which the Educator can improve. HLM handles all billing matters and pays Educators twice monthly. Conflict resolution and client reassignment should issues arise.Pay:
$42.00 for 60-minute sessions- $31.50 for 45-minute sessions
- $21.00 for 30-minute sessions
- Rates include 15 minutes of travel time, mileage, communicating/scheduling with parents and administration.

What is the youngest age you feel comfortable teaching? Are you vaccinated against COVID-19 and willing to submit proof of vaccination? This is an in-person position that requires tutors to travel between students' homes and public libraries.
