Job Description

City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Responsibilities Provide in-class support and one-on-one or small-group tutoring in math and English/language arts Build positive relationships with students to promote engagement, attendance, and social-emotional growth Track and report student progress and participate in regular data reviews with school and City Year staff Collaborate with a diverse Ameri Corps team and school partners to plan and deliver interventions and activities Support school-wide events, after-school programs, and family engagement activities Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and leadership development sessions Required Skills Student mentoring Classroom support Youth development practices Behavior management Data entry and progress tracking Basic tutoring in math Basic tutoring in English/ELATeam collaboration Community outreach/support Time management
