Huntington Learning Center of Jacksonville is looking for a strong English/Writing teacher or tutor to work with high school students preparing for the SAT and ACT . If you love teaching but could do without lesson planning, grading papers at home, classroom management, and parent conferences, this may be a great fit. Huntington Learning Center has been helping students build academic skills and confidence for more than 45 years. We provide the curriculum, materials, training, and students, you get to focus on teaching. What You'll Teach Our SAT/ACT English and Writing instructors work with students on skills including: Grammar and punctuation Sentence structure and usage Rhetorical skills and effective writing Revising and editing Reading comprehension Vocabulary in context SAT Reading & Writing strategies ACT English and Reading strategies Test-taking strategies, pacing, and accuracy Previous SAT/ACT teaching experience is a plus, but is not required. Training and curriculum are provided. What You'll Do Work with high school students in a small-group tutoring environment Teach established Huntington SAT/ACT curriculum and strategies Help students identify and correct weaknesses in English, grammar, reading, and writing Motivate students and build their confidence Provide positive, engaging instruction Help students work toward their SAT/ACT and college admission goals Why Teachers Enjoy Working at Huntington
