Position Summary:
Key Position Information The Dental Clinic Operations Coordinator is responsible for the daily operation of a 17-chair Dental Hygiene Clinic serving more than 2,500 patients annually and supporting 48 dental hygiene students during laboratory and clinical instruction. This position manages clinical inventory, purchasing, equipment maintenance, and infection control to ensure the clinic is fully operational for patient care and instruction. Responsibilities include ordering and organizing clinical supplies, maintaining inventory, processing purchase requisitions through PeopleSoft, coordinating equipment maintenance and repairs, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, CDC, and College infection control standards. The position requires knowledge of dental clinic operations, sterilization procedures, Dexis digital radiography, intraoral cameras, A-dec dental equipment, and dental clinic support systems. The incumbent works closely with faculty, Facilities Services, vendors, and outside service technicians to maintain clinic operations. This is a 29-hour-per-week position requiring scheduling flexibility. Work hours are established by the Program Director based on clinic and instructional needs and may begin as early as 7:00 a.m. during certain semesters. Minimum Qualifications Education High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Experience Four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative, inventory management, dental office, dental clinic, or clinical support experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a dental office, dental hygiene program, dental assisting program, or dental clinic. Knowledge of dental infection control, instrument processing, and sterilization procedures. Experience with purchasing, inventory management, and budget tracking. Experience using PeopleSoft or similar purchasing software. Experience with Dexis digital radiography, intraoral cameras, A-dec dental equipment, or similar dental technologies. Knowledge of OSHA and CDC infection prevention guidelines. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of dental clinic operations, infection control, and sterilization procedures. Knowledge of inventory control, purchasing, and budget monitoring. Ability to coordinate equipment maintenance and vendor services. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, students, staff, vendors, and Facilities Services.

Responsibilities:

Responds to requests for information, in person, via e-mail, and over the phone; takes and transmits messages; answers department questions and provides information; directs visitors to appropriate locations. Performs various routine clerical duties, utilizing standard office equipment, to include: screening incoming calls; taking and transmitting messages; greeting visitors; keyboarding information into databases; scanning and/or faxing documents; and performing related duties. Daily 10% 5. Monitors and maintains inventory which includes creating purchasing orders and monitoring expenses. Weekly 10% 6. May prioritize and assign work to student workers and/or part-time staff; monitor the performance of staff; and train students and/or staff on work methods and procedures. Daily 10% 7. WORK ENVIRONMENT
