Job Summary Solara Tutoring is seeking a dedicated, patient, and experienced male tutor specializing in special needs education. This role is ideal for a retired educator looking to transition to a flexible, rewarding part-time schedule. The successful candidate will provide individualized, compassionate academic and developmental support to children with diverse learning needs during morning sessions, helping them build confidence and academic success. Key Responsibilities Deliver tutoring sessions tailored to the specific learning styles, paces, and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) of students with special needs.
Skill Development:
Support students in core academic subjects while fostering essential life skills, communication, focus, and behavioral coping strategies.
Progress Tracking:
Maintain detailed session notes and monitor student progress, providing regular, constructive feedback to parents and guardians.
Safe & Encouraging Environment:
Create a warm, patient, and structured learning atmosphere that encourages positive reinforcement and student engagement.
Qualifications & Requirements Professional Background:
Proven teaching or tutoring experience, particularly with a background in special education, inclusive learning, or developmental support. (Retired educators from the Department of Education or private institutions are highly encouraged to apply.)
Special Needs Expertise:
Demonstrated patience, empathy, and practical experience working with children with special needs (e.g., ADHD, autism spectrum, learning disabilities, or developmental delays).
Availability:
Must be available to work Wednesday through Friday mornings.
Clearances:
Background checks and relevant clearances required for working with children.
