Test Proctor (On-Call) University of Chicago Laboratory Schools Chicago, IL Job Details Temporary | Part-time $17 - $19 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits Paid training On-the-job training Flexible schedule Qualifications School experience Customer service English Attention to detail Working with students Organizational skills Associate's degree Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Proctor to oversee and facilitate standardized and classroom testing environments for the 26-27 school year. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, ensuring that all testing procedures are followed accurately while providing a supportive atmosphere for students. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of the testing process and assisting students in achieving their academic goals. Duties Supervise students during testing sessions to ensure compliance with testing protocols and guidelines. Educate High School and Middle School students on test procedures, rules, and expectations prior to the examination. Communicate effectively with students to address any questions or concerns regarding the testing process. Organize and prepare the testing environment, including setting up materials and ensuring all necessary equipment is available. Monitor the testing environment for any irregularities or violations of test protocols. Provide assistance to students as needed, particularly those with special accommodations. Maintain accurate records of attendance and any incidents that occur during testing sessions. Collaborate with educational staff to support education initiatives and standardized testing programs. Other duties assigned by the Assessment Coordinator Experience Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred. Moderate to High comfort level with technology (laptops, internet browsing, email, login credentials, Google Workspace, digital/web based testing) Familiarity with classroom management techniques and customer service principles is advantageous. Experience in secondary education or standardized testing environments is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with diverse groups of individuals. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Calm yet firm professional demeanor. This temporary, ON-CALL position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to the educational journey of students while ensuring a fair and secure testing experience.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 2.0 - 10.0 per week
