Job Description

Chess Chevra is seeking enthusiastic and qualified individuals to join our team as a Chess Coach for our school programs in the Chicago, IL area . This is a rewarding opportunity to share your passion for chess and help elementary students develop their skills in a fun, educational environment. We have weekly after-school program currently scheduled for Mondays at 3:30-4:30pm in West Rogers Park and Tuesdays at 4-5pm in Skokie, starting in mid-October. This job is a low-commitment, 1-hour per week role, ideal for someone looking for flexible supplemental income. About the Role As a Chess Coach , you will be responsible for leading engaging and effective chess instruction for children in our school classes. You will be an integral part of fostering a love for the game and helping students progress at their own pace.
Key Details Locations and Times:
Mondays at 3:30-4:30pm in West Rogers Park. Tuesdays at 4pm-5pm in Skokie. Starting in mid-October.
Compensation:
Up to $80 per hour . Qualifications and Skills We are looking for a dedicated Chess Coach who meets the following criteria:
Chess Expertise:
A current chess rating of 1200+ , or comparable level.
Teaching Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching children in chess or other subjects. Passion for
Youth:
A genuine passion for working with kids and making learning enjoyable.
Adaptability:
The ability to tailor lessons and teaching approaches to accommodate a variety of skill levels, from beginners to more advanced students.
Classroom Management:
Proven classroom management skills to ensure a focused and respectful learning environment.
Professionalism:
