Job Description
Job Summary 1 More Chance, LLC is seeking qualified Tutoring & Literacy Specialists to provide individualized educational support to children and youth involved with the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS). This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity designed for professionals who have experience working with children and youth in educational, tutoring, literacy, academic support, or related settings. Services are provided based on authorized referrals and the individual educational needs of each child or youth. Responsibilities Tutoring & Literacy Specialists may provide support in areas including: Reading and literacy development Reading comprehension Written communication and writing skills Mathematics and other academic subjects Homework and assignment completion Study and organizational skills Academic skill development Educational engagement and motivation Individualized learning strategies based on the student's needs Contractors are also responsible for maintaining accurate and timely documentation of services provided and communicating professionally with agency leadership and other authorized members of the service team. Qualifications Applicants should possess education and/or professional experience related to one or more of the following: Education Teaching Tutoring Literacy or reading intervention Child development Social services Psychology Counseling Youth services Special education Other related fields Experience working with children and adolescents is strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication, professionalism, reliability, organization, appropriate professional boundaries, and the ability to complete required documentation within established time frames. Additional Requirements Selected candidates must successfully complete all required onboarding requirements applicable to providing contracted services through 1 More Chance, LLC and the Indiana Department of Child Services. This may include required background checks, credential verification, training requirements, automobile insurance and reliable transportation when applicable, and other documentation required for service eligibility.
