STRATEGIES

The ideal candidate will possess a STRONG background in TUTORING and/or teaching, especially in English AND Math and be reliable, organized and motivated to elicit a student's potential. This role requires effective communication skills, commitment to excellence and a passion for helping students become confident learners. Duties Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions focused on test preparation strategies and subject comprehension. Develop tailored lesson plans and curriculum that meet the diverse needs of students. Utilize learning technology to facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly to ensure understanding and retention of material. Write weekly summaries after each tutoring session

IMPORTANT

Submit BOTH cover letter and resume. Conduct presentations on test-taking strategies, study skills, and time management techniques. Collaborate with parents to support student's achievement. Experience Background in lesson planning is highly desirable. Experience working with students of various capabilities. Standardized, TEST-PREP tutoring experience. Strong presentation skills to effectively convey information during tutoring sessions.

In person We are seeking a dynamic and experienced ISEE, SSAT, and SAT tutor with over two years of dedicated tutoring experience to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to empower high school students by enhancing their test-taking skills, strengthening their academic confidence, and guiding them through comprehensive test preparation strategies. As a vital member of our educational team, you will leverage your expertise in standardized testing and curriculum development to deliver engaging, personalized instruction both online and in-person. Your passion for education and ability to connect with teenagers will help students achieve their academic goals and unlock their full potential. Responsibilities Deliver tailored tutoring sessions focused on ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam), SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test), and SAT preparation, ensuring students develop strong test-taking strategies. Design and implement customized lesson plans that align with each student's unique learning style, strengths, and areas for improvement. Provide clear guidance on SAT preparation when applicable, including test format familiarity, time management techniques, and practice exercises. Assess student progress regularly through practice tests and assessments, adjusting instruction accordingly to maximize results. Offer expert advice on test anxiety management, study skills, and effective homework practices to foster independent learning habits. Maintain detailed records of student performance, session notes, and curriculum development to track growth over time. Skills Proven experience in tutoring high school students in standardized tests such as ISEE, SSAT, SAT, and ACT preparation. Strong knowledge of test-taking strategies, curriculum development, and instructional best practices for teenagers. Expertise in using educational technology tools and digital resources/ Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and engagingly. Experience working with diverse learners, including those requiring special education accommodations. Ability to develop customized lesson plans that incorporate writing skills, math concepts, reading comprehension, and test-specific techniques. Experience working with high schoolers in either classroom settings or private tutoring environments; familiarity with classroom management is a plus. Demonstrated ability to help students improve test scores through tutoring approaches. -Cover Letter Required to be considered!
