Tuesdays and Thursdays Overview The Reading Elevation Blueprint is a small-group reading intervention program serving students in grades K-5. Our mission is simple but powerful: Reimagine Literacy. Rethink Education. Rebuild Confidence. We are hiring certified teachers to provide in-person, after-school reading intervention at Bladensburg Elementary School. Tutors will lead small groups of approximately five students using our provided structured literacy curriculum. Schedule and Required Commitment Each tutor will be assigned to one of the following instructional slots: 3:30-4:30 p.m. 4:30-5:30 p.m. The commitment is one hour per day, twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for 20 weeks . Applicants must be available consistently for their assigned time slot throughout the program. Final start and end dates will be confirmed before hiring. Duties Deliver engaging, in-person reading intervention every Tuesday and Thursday. Teach a small group of approximately five elementary students. Follow provided lesson plans and structured literacy routines. Support phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and reading stamina. Record and monitor student attendance during every session. Monitor student performance and document progress. Administer or support student assessments as assigned. Communicate professionally with program leadership and school staff. Participate in required training, meetings, and coaching. Maintain a supportive, engaging, and well-managed learning environment. Arrive consistently and on time for every assigned session. Requirements Active teaching license or certification. Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. At least 1-2 years of classroom teaching experience. Experience teaching or tutoring elementary students in grades K-5. Knowledge of the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy instruction. Strong understanding of phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Strong classroom-management and small-group instructional skills. Reliable transportation to Bladensburg Elementary School. Consistent availability for one assigned time slot every Tuesday and Thursday. Ability to commit to the full 20-week program. Organized, dependable, responsive, and open to coaching and feedback. Willingness to complete all required background checks, fingerprinting, clearances, and school onboarding requirements. Step 3: Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview. Step 4: Selected candidates will complete the required clearances, onboarding, and program training before instruction begins.
