Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The Chancellor's Science Scholars Program is at the forefront of efforts to increase diversity among future leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics ( STEM) and related fields. Created in 2013, the program supports a diverse group of high-achieving undergraduate students who have an interest in pursuing a PhD or combined MD/PhD in STEM and an interest in the advancement of underrepresented minorities in the sciences and related fields
  • Work with other program staff, Executive Director, Registrar's Office, and faculty to coordinate course requests.
Position Summary We are seeking a qualified instructor to support academic programming during the summer session. This role will involve administering and grading a comprehensive exam, evaluating student performance data, and identifying key areas for growth across the cohort. Based on this assessment, the instructor will design and lead a series of 4-6 targeted evening workshops or content sessions aimed at strengthening student understanding and skills. Sessions will be held on a consistent weekday schedule and should incorporate interactive, outcomes-focused instruction tailored to student needs. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Management Preferences Experience leading classroom activities, conducting workshops, or evaluating student performance. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong teaching, assessment, and curriculum development skills. Ability to translate evaluation results into effective, engaging learning experiences. Special Physical/Mental Requirements Campus Security Authority Responsibilities This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
