Coding Tutor Genie Academy | Central Jersey (Multiple Centers) About Genie Academy Genie Academy is a K-12 supplemental education company based in New Jersey with centers across Central Jersey, including East Brunswick, Morganville, South Plainfield, Woodbridge, Hillsboro, Iselin, and Long Branch. We teach math, reading, writing, coding, abacus mental math, and SAT prep in small groups of 3-6 students. About the Role We're looking for a part-time Coding Tutor to introduce and develop programming skills in K-12 students. You'll work across multiple center locations, teaching coding concepts in our small-group format — from beginner block coding to more advanced programming languages. Schedule Monday•
Friday:
4:00 PM•8:00
PM Saturday:
9:00 AM•2:00 PM Responsibilities Deliver coding instruction to small groups of K-12 students across grade levels Teach beginner through intermediate programming concepts, including block coding (Scratch) and text-based languages Follow Genie Academy's curriculum and program cycles Keep instruction hands-on, engaging, and age-appropriate Travel between assigned center locations as needed Requirements Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, JavaScript, or similar) and/or block coding platforms (Scratch, etc.) Prior tutoring, teaching, or instructional experience preferred Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license (multi-center travel required) Available for the full weekly schedule listed above Committed to completing full program cycles — no mid-cycle departures Ability to break down technical concepts clearly for young learners Nice to Have Experience teaching coding to children or teens Background in computer science, software development, or education Familiarity with robotics, game design, or web development curricula Compensation Competitive — based on experience
