Hourly[HR] Pay Rate $21.36/hr Overview Provide academic student support by working one-on-one with students on specific concepts and skills. Background in math or science and experience working with students with disabilities is preferred. Responsibilities Tutor individual students in fundamental and advanced skills and areas of knowledge. Provide assistance to students in comprehending discipline specific subject matter. Respond to student questions requiring an in-depth knowledge of subject matter, course concepts and learning objectives. Assist in conducting student support functions. Support student use of discipline specific technology and the course learning management system. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
B.A. or B.S. in the discipline or, for consideration in exceptional situations, an A.A. or A.S. in the discipline or a
B.A./B.S.
with at least 12 credits in the discipline.
Experience:
Prior tutoring experience desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proven ability to work effectively with students of varying ages, cultures, and knowledge base. Proven ability to communicate ideas, principles and concepts effectively in individual or small group settings. Computer literacy skills at an intermediate level including a proven ability to utilize and apply Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point as well as specialized software programs and computer applications essential to the learning process e.g. the College's Learning Management System and ERP. Knowledge of information research strategies Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and faculty. Fluency in a second language preferred.
Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations:
Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities. Positions are temporary and assigned to work as needed. Need is for day hours. Immediate need is for Science Tutors. Application Documents Cover Letter, Other, Resume Pay Rate $21.36/hr
