Kumon of Sayreville-Parlin is looking for energetic, reliable, and academically strong individuals to join our team as part-time Kumon Math & Reading Assistants . Our students range from elementary school through high school. We are looking for candidates who enjoy working with children and teenagers and can confidently support students in both Math and Reading , including students working at advanced high-school math levels. Responsibilities Assist students with Kumon Math and Reading worksheets Work with students ranging from elementary school through high school Support advanced Math students working on Algebra, Algebra II, Precalculus, and Calculus Check and grade student work accurately Help students understand concepts and guide them toward finding answers independently Encourage students to develop strong study habits, accuracy, and problem-solving skills Provide appropriate guidance and encouragement to students at different academic levels Communicate professionally with students and parents Check students in and out of the center Organize student folders and maintain an orderly learning environment Qualifications Strong academic background in Math and Reading Ability to confidently work with high-school mathematics through Calculus Strong reading comprehension and English language skills Enjoy working with children and teenagers Patient, positive, energetic, and encouraging personality Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, punctual, and dependable Detail-oriented and organized Able to commit consistently to the scheduled hours Interested in a long-term position , not a seasonal or temporary job Ideal Candidates This position is particularly suitable for: College students who have completed Calculus Students majoring in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Education , or related fields Current or former teachers and tutors Retired teachers or educators Individuals with strong academic backgrounds who enjoy working with children Previous tutoring or teaching experience is a plus, but we are also willing to train the right candidate. Schedule Monday & Thursday 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM Wednesday 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM 4-hour shifts After-school/evening hours No weekends In-person position Important This is not a seasonal or temporary position . We are specifically looking for candidates interested in working with us long-term and who can reliably commit to the scheduled days and hours. Reliability and consistency are extremely important.
