Reading and Mathematics Full Time Position for 26-27

School Year Compensation :

$24.00/hour plus applicable benefits Position Summary The High Impact Tutor provides intensive, evidence-based, small-group reading and mathematics instruction to students identified as needing additional academic support. The tutor works with consistent groups of no more than four students and provides targeted instruction designed to address unfinished learning while accelerating students toward grade-level proficiency. Tutoring is supplemental to core instruction and is aligned with RioGAFA's instructional materials, New Mexico Content Standards, classroom pacing, and Multi-Layered System of Supports (MLSS). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide high-impact tutoring in reading and mathematics to small groups of no more than four students per session in person during the school day. Provide students with the required tutoring dosage of 90 minutes of tutoring per week through a minimum of two sessions per week. Implement structured, evidence-based tutoring lessons aligned with New Mexico standards, RioGAFA's curriculum, classroom instruction, and identified student needs. Use diagnostic and progress-monitoring data to identify prerequisite skill gaps and determine instructional priorities. Provide explicit instruction, modeling, guided practice, independent student practice, checks for understanding, and immediate corrective feedback. Prepare for tutoring sessions using required lesson plans, instructional materials, and student data. Collaborate with classroom teachers and instructional coaches to align with core instruction. Provide culturally and linguistically responsive instruction appropriate for multilingual learners, students with disabilities, and students from diverse backgrounds. Conduct and document student progress monitoring at least every two weeks, as required by PED. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, instructional minutes/dosage, progress-monitoring results, lesson implementation, and other required program data. Enter required information into RioGAFA and/or PED-provided data systems accurately and on time. Communicate student progress and instructional needs to teachers and school leaders. Support appropriate family communication regarding tutoring student attendance and progress. Maintain student confidentiality. Participate in feedback meetings, PLCs, professional development, and program evaluation activities. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet at least one of the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree; or Current enrollment in a teacher preparation program; or Demonstrated experience providing instructional support to students. In addition, candidates must: Demonstrate knowledge of or the capacity to learn effective literacy and/or mathematics instruction. Demonstrate the ability to support culturally and linguistically diverse learners. Successfully complete required pre-service training. Successfully complete and pass all required background checks prior to working directly with students. These requirements come directly from the PED staffing requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience providing reading or mathematics intervention; experience working with K-8 students; knowledge of the Science of Reading, foundational literacy, or evidence-based mathematics instruction; experience with high quality instructional materials; experience supporting students with disabilities and multilingual learners; familiarity with MLSS.

Monday-Friday 7:45-3:45 29 weeks (2 weeks of professional development and 27 weeks of tutoring) Anticipated start 9/28/26
