Job Description
Huntington Learning Center is hiring a part-time Math Tutor to work with middle school and high school students in a structured learning environment. This position is ideal for candidates with prior tutoring experience , a bachelor's degree , and strong skills in Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry . Experience with ACT and SAT math preparation is strongly preferred. This is an instruction-only tutoring role —we handle lesson planning, scheduling, materials, and parent communication , allowing Math Tutors to focus entirely on student instruction. Math Tutor Responsibilities Provide math tutoring to students in 1:1 and small group settings (up to 4 students) Tutor Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry to middle and high school students Support students preparing for ACT and SAT math sections Build positive rapport with students and maintain a supportive learning environment Deliver consistent, high-quality instruction using Huntington Learning Center materials Math Tutor Schedule & Work Environment Flexible, part-time hours Availability required during weeknights (3:30 PM - 7:30 PM) and/or Saturday mornings (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM) In-person tutoring at the learning center Paid training and ongoing academic support provided Math Tutor Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (math or education degree not required) Prior experience as a Math Tutor, Academic Tutor, or Teaching Assistant preferred Experience working with school-aged students (middle or high school) Strong knowledge of Algebra and Geometry Ability to build rapport and communicate clearly with students Teaching certification or license not required ACT/SAT math tutoring experience preferred Applicants must successfully complete an in-person math assessment to demonstrate subject-matter proficiency.
